I had the pleasure at speaking at Refresh, a Middlesborough based monthly meet up.

I have wanted to go along to Refresh for the last couple of years, however life kept getting in the way until this month where I ended up in DM’s with the organisers, and quickly after confirming I would attend, I then ended up agreeing to speak.

The topic was origin stories. After sending some of my writing over to the team and explaining the company I am currently building we agreed to fuse the idea of my own personal origin story and how I ended up working with New Media Creators.

I really enjoyed the experience. It’s been a while since I did official public speaking, and outside of my usual self criticism after such things I got some amazing feedback and met some fantastic people.

I was followed by Jason Agnew speaking about the lessons he has learned along the way of learning his craft. I took a lot from his talk, and his delivery.

I think Refresh have picked an excellent theme for next month’s halloween themed meet up: Horror Stories (thankfully they aren’t asking people to name the clients and are offering the option of anonymity!).
